Tree services in Burnside
Burnside is known for its big trees, and council wants them kept. We work in the City of Burnside, including the Stonyfell sugar gum job below, and we can help you apply for council's funding to look after a regulated or significant tree instead of losing it.

Tree rules in Burnside
- City of Burnside's Regulated and Significant Tree Assistance scheme (RASTA) can reimburse up to 75% of approved maintenance work on a regulated or significant tree on private land, capped at $2,000 per tree (up to $3,000 at council's discretion). It covers maintenance, not removal.
- Council has to approve the RASTA application before any work starts. It needs a site plan, photos and advice from an arborist holding at least a Level 5 (Cert V / Diploma) qualification in arboriculture. Jordan holds a Diploma of Arboriculture (AQF Level 5).
- Council trees are protected under the Local Government Act 1999, including when they're near driveways, paths, fences or verge works. Damaging one can mean a fine of up to $5,000 and a criminal conviction.
- If you're building or developing, council expects an arborist's report to Australian Standard AS 4970: a survey of every tree on site, a tree protection plan, and care during and after construction.
State-wide rules on regulated and significant trees apply here too. See the short version.
